During this yearly event, people from all over descend on downtown for a chance to watch a donkey race inspired by the local herd, which are believed to be distant relatives of the original donkeys from the town’s Gold Rush days. The festival is filled with live entertainment, heritage competitions, and the chance to meet new baby donkeys.
